I Have Tourette's But
Tourette's Doesn't Have Me

Dispelling the myth, one child at a time

2006 Emmy Winner - Outstanding Children's Program

The stars of this documentary are children ages 8 to 14 with Tourette Syndrome. They describe what it's like to be affected by this often misunderstood neurological disorder. They demonstrate what their tics are like; they talk about difficulties with school and the burden of social isolation and embarrassment. They feel unwanted.

In every school in America, it's likely that at least one child may have Tourette Syndrome. The children are often stigmatized and almost always misunderstood. This HBO Documentary originally aired in 2005. Extra DVD features include resources for educators, families, children interested in learning more about Tourette Syndrome, information from experts John Walkup, M.D., Susan Conners, M.Ed., and Evan Trost, M.D.
